Getting warmer out....

spring

Believe it or not, I am super excited for spring to come. I spent the whole summer in London so I feel like I have been wearing coats and scarves for too long. I loveeee this lace Topshop body suit with cut of denim shorts.

What a great day

I just found these funny boots last night. The reason I am saying funny is because they are Dr. Scholl's! Now, I know what you are thinking, "my grandpa wears Dr. Scholl's!" Don't worry because mine does too. Hopefully I won't see G-pa parading around in these bad boys anytime soon.

I've have started to play around with Poladroid, which I have seen often on blogs now. I find it is much cheaper than buying film for my real polariod so I am going to roll with it for now because my photo editing skills are at a premature stage.

F21 skirt, Levi's belt, boyfriends shirt I ripped up and Dr. Scholl's boots .. Yes I am cool.

Also, I just wanted to touch on what an incredible day today was. I will quite literally never forget the way I felt watching the ceremony of the inauguration of our 44th president, Barack Obama. I can't express my excitement or pride for my country in words, (which is pretty unusual for me.) It sunk in the most when my mother, an old-fashioned conservative, called me to say, in a very shaky emotional tone how thrilled she was that he is our new president. She described her excitement for what is to come and also what a cool dude she thinks he is.  She said she didn't miss a moment of the ceremony and watched on her computer at work all day. For once in a political conversation, I couldn't agree more with my mother.

What I'm loving for spring

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Alexander Wang will always be one of those designers that never ceases to amaze me. With every collection he maintains his same staple look of dark shades, angular cuts, blazers, trousers, solids etc but still brings something cutting edge and unique to the table with every collection. I love how often he works with black, gray and white, but that doesn't always compliment the time of year.

For spring, Alexander Wang presents us with some remarkable pastels of baby blue, peach and pink to integrate with his black and white staples. I adore the loose fit of the jackets and shorts but love the tight mini-dresses.

Daisy

I can definitely say I have closet envy for British model/Gavin Rossdale's lovechild, Daisy Lowe. She definitely sports the London street look with a lot of dark shades, tights, scarves and blazers. Plus she is gorgeous so that helps too.

Autostrada.

Last night my dearest friend Whitney and I had the privilege to attend a family and friends dinner for a new restaurant called Autostrada, which means highway in Italian. After racing home from an overpriced hair cut and then sitting on my bathroom counter so I can proceed to cut more myself, Whitney and I got ready for the scrumptious event. <span class=
Autostrada is up north in DC Ranch and occupies the building that was once a cute, little coffee shop. Saying that it is a small place would definitely be an understatement. Everything went rather smoothly considering it was a family and friends night, which usually ends up striking close to disaster. Those nights are the first time the servers wait on tables after being bombarded with info. on food, wine, computer systems etc. It is also the first time the kitchen actually prepares the dishes from a ticket.

Considering the close quarters and obnoxious relatives, I thought everything went rather well to be honest. Of course when a cheese plate is placed in front of me and a glass of petite syrah is in my hand, nothing could upset me really. We gorged on cheese, fingerling potatoes with kale, butternut squash ravioli, halibut, and finished off with the best part of all, a chocolate crepe with fresh strawberries.. YUM

After dinner Whitney and I <span class=rolled ourselves out of there and headed down to Tempe to meet with friends. We ended up at The Big Bang, a dueling piano bar that always makes for a great time. Especially if you are in the mood to dance... And Whitney and David were. <span class=

Audrey

Like most girls, I have always admired Audrey Hepburn for her classic, ladylike glamour. She exudes fabulous from her little black dress to her perfectly groomed eyebrows. Audrey speaks and walks like a proper lady and you will never see her looking anything less than her very best. I like to delve into my inner Audrey at times so I can feel as if I am half as charming and graceful as her.

This is my take on a Audrey look. Yves Saint Laurent satin bustier dress, Christain Louboutin Alti leather pumps, Chanel evening bag, Ray-ban Wayfarers.
