black friday

It's safe to say that shopping is one of my favorite activities, however even I can't bring myself to want to go shopping on Black Friday. This is because I like to refer to Black Friday as "amateur hour”. These are the folks that don't usually frequent malls and only emerge from their outdated caves on this particular day to snag the discounts and get their Christmas shopping done early so they won’t have to leave the cave again until next year.

The reason I loathe shopping next to these people is because they simply aren’t aware of the common courtesies that regular mall-goers should know.

Nothing frustrates me more than rack hogs. Rack hogs are people who just can’t make their minds about a piece of clothing, so instead of grabbing the garment and relocating to a more appropriate decision-making spot, they “hog the rack” and ponder preventing anyone else from browsing said items.

In my opinion, hustling is the golden rule of shopping. It’s safe to say we don’t have all day to leisurely shop. Well, that’s not true because I do live in Scottsdale and the majority of mall-goers do in fact have ALL DAY to spend money, but that’s an irregularity. Hustling is important because you want to cover as many stores as possible and make sure you’ve seen all the items in a timely matter. You never want to miss out on anything.

This is a problem for the “rack hogs” because they also want to see all the items in the store, but they do not understand the hustle part to this strategy.

All in all, I personally do not want to be a shopping companion of the rack hogs who roll themselves out of bed at unreasonable hours on this day just to be the first in line at Macy's in hopes they can snag those 75% off 800-thread-count Calvin Klein sheets. I like to think I’m a loyal shopper and do not necessitate discounted TV’s or UGG boots in order for me to go shopping.

Love will

It's been forever since I've posted a blog. I've had so much going on and nothing at the same time... if that makes sense. So I have really no excuse for my laziness.

I've been trying my hardest to get into the holiday spirit but it's difficult when I work everyday, the temperature is still in the high 80's and the mere fact that my life is so mundane I didn't even realize Thanksgiving was in two days.

I'm happy this year is approaching its end so I can start fresh in 2010 and hopefully make some changes in my life because if I've learned anything this year, it's that love will tear us apart.

All Those Nasty Gals

For whatever reason I've failed to regularly update my blog. Sorry, it's not like I'm busy.

These are some of my favorite looks from Nasty Gal.

I'm kind of hoping it will just be winter already so I can finally sport some fur and blazers.

Guess I just need to get out of AZ sooner than I thought. Have a nice day.

Brand New Eyes

In honor of the release of Paramore's new album Brand New Eyes....I thought I would criticize Hayley William's style a little.

The girl is adorable and very unique, however she consistently seems to fail in the fashion department. Yes, she has the rocker style going for her but she just seems to be slightly off with each trend she attempts. For instance, below she's going for the menswear look and animal print. There's just something about the way she puts clothes together that take away from her femininity. Odd because she is so petite and cute.

Regardless, I still love her and her music so maybe she can just hire me to be her personal stylist one day!

Top Three Emmy dresses in my opinion

2. Alicia Witt in a two-tone studded sensation

3. Kristin Chenoweth in a sexy mini

Top 3 Worst Dresses

1. Kristen Wiig in her Darth Vader inspired dress

2. Victoria Rowell in a dress that should have been worn during the night of the election and not at the Emmy's

3. Amy Poehler in a cheaply made, unfitted, boring black dress

Blink 182

I relived middle school moments last night at the Blink 182 show in Tempe. The venue was swarmed with little emo kids and adults singing along to every word-- because we all know all the words.

Blink was the same as they were 10 years ago. Mark and Tom still went back and forth making sexual comments about each others mothers. Overall the night was amazing. They concluded by playing Dammit, a song popular from their album Dude Ranch and everyone went nuts. I'm excited they decided to go back on tour.

In other news, I'm obsessed with leather jackets and can't wait for winter to come so I can wear them all the time. Unfortunately I live in Arizona so there is never really a time when leather is necessary, but a girl can dream. Right?

RIP Patrick Swayze

Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you.

Crushing On

First and foremost, I've never wanted a pair of shoes more than I want these studded Louboutin's.

Secondly, I absolutely LOVE Taylor Momsen's style. I have to keep reminding myself that she is only 16! It's amazing that she has such a distinct look already and knows exactly what she likes. When I was 16 I wore baggy boy shorts and ripped converses. Granted I wasn't on a hit TV show based around fashion or in a rock band so there ya go...

Flake

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. I've been super busy making lots of random changes in my life, ie. new job and house. Anyways, even though I've been bad at posting my own blogs, I still manage to take time to read others.

This is one of my favorite blogs to read called Boubouteatime. Here are a couple of her recent collages. Enjoy :)

Vegas Baby

I really like this editorial knightcat featured a couple posts ago.

The model kind of reminds me of Hayley Williams from Paramore.

I also leave for Vegas tomorrow and the gold platforms, silk jumpsuit and glittery dress basically scream Vegas attire. Cannot wait! xoxo
