Scrunch Time

I really enjoy this cold weather-friendly look of scrunched socks paired with platform sandals. It's versatile and allows you to wear your favorite heels year round without freezing your toes. Burberry Porsum presented this look in their Spring 2008 collection and we’ve now seen many different takes on the look since.

Alexa Chung always manages to add an eclectic twist to her typical menswear inspired look by adding ankle socks to her booties. While Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast sports thick scrunched socks with D&G wedges in New York for Fashion Week.

love on the back burner

After an incredible week and a half, I now must leave NYC. I'm so dumb that I made my travel arrangements to go home the day fashion week starts. dumb dumb dumb. However, I've had the privilege to meet so many wonderful women in the fashion industry here in New York. I hope the connections I've made will be lasting.

I leave for New York tomorrow morning! I'm beyond excited. It will probably take me all evening to pack considering how cold it's going to be there.

If all goes well, hopefully the next time I board a plane to the city it will be a one-way!

Uniform

I love wearing black. I'm not sure why, but over the past year I've noticed color slowly fleeing from my closet. Maybe I've become more earnest. Maybe it's because black is flattering. Whatever the case may be, I like being on the dark side.

Once I move to New York I have a feeling black will be making an appearance more than ever (with the exception of awesome faux-fur leopard coats of course.)

9 days...

9 days and counting until I'm able to escape to New York for a week. I plan to wake up and start walking in one direction until I need to turn and walk another direction. Hopefully I'll make use of that walking and apply for any and every job available at the surrounding restaurants and shops.

I do however need to keep in mind that it's currently FREEZING in NY so said walking may be limited. We'll see how I can deal I guess.

I have to say, one of the top ten reasons I'm so excited to move to New York is that they have a Topshop there now, which is unexplainably exciting for me. All the items below are from Topshop and I'm really digging the denim oxfords--- a lot.

I apologize for my blogging hiatus. I really have no excuse for my absence of posts other than that I was probably sleeping.

However, just because I haven't been blogging myself doesn't mean I’m not still wasting away at my computer drinking coffee and perusing fashion sites.
